Bible Study: What Does the Bible Say About Tattoos – The Bible only says one thing specifically about getting tattoos. The one verse in the Bible that mentions tattoos is found in Leviticus 19:28 (NASB) You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD. This Bible verse, of course, is found in the Old Testament and is not binding on Christians today. However, there are verses in the New Testament which give us principles for determining what the Bible says about tattoos. In this Bible Study, we will specifically consider this passage: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NASB) Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.
